In 2017, Laila made headlines after news emerged that she quit her multi-million naira bank job for blogging.
Early life and education
Laila Ijeoma was born and raised in Aba, Abia State. She is the first child of her parents, from a Catholic home. She attended Ninlan Demonstration Secondary School, Aba and Abia State Senior Science School Ihie where she graduated with A1s in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics and Igbo. Laila Ijeoma holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri in Imo state. She graduated in 2005.Bank career and media work
In 2006, Laila was hired as a corp member in one of the top new generation banks in Nigeria. After her NYSC service year, she was retained and moved up to being an Executive Assistant with the bank.In 2012 Laila created her first blog as a prank. She later abandoned that blog in 2013 for a new url destination. In 2013, she founded her celebrity gossip and entertainment website, LailasBlog.com.
On 30th of June, 2016 Laila shocked family and friends when she honourably resigned from her bank job as an Assistant Banking Officer, to focus on blogging. She says she has no regrets whatsoever after leaving. Laila Ijeoma appeared on Channels TV’s Rubbin Minds with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu to discuss the major highlights of year 2016.
