Early Life

She was born in Sudan where her parents were refugees from the Eritrean/Ethiopian war. Her family then moved to the U.S.

Education

She subsequently attended Texas A&M for undergrad and Southern University, an HBCU, for law school. Yodit went on to obtain her B.A. in English, with a Minor in Communication from Texas A&M University. Yodit received her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Race, Gender and Poverty.

During law school, Yodit clerked for the Honorable Irma Ramirez of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, as well as the Honorable Douglas D. Dodd of the Middle District of Louisiana.

Career

Yodit is Lawyer and Television and she has appeared on major news networks such as CNN, News One Now and Fox as a legal analyst and commentator. She enjoys serving her community through mentoring. In 2016, she was on the National Bar Association’s list for “40 Under 40 Nation’s Best Advocates.”
