Boitumelo Thulo (born April 28, 1990, in Potchefstroom, North West), popularly known as Boity, is a South African television personality, rapper, actress, businesswoman and model. She is famous for her leading role in Club 808, a music show on e.tv. Similarly, she appears in Mzansi Magic as the character Mpho Bogatsu. She also co-host on “The Media Career Guide Show” (SABC 1 educational series).

Education

Boity completed her secondary school education at Potchefstroom Girls High. She took part in running from primary school up until high school.

Thulo was also involved in her school’s drum majorettes (drummies) team. She studied psychology and criminology at Johannesburg’s Monash University. She reportedly dropped out of university during her second year to pursue her career in entertainment industry, but some say it is due to her parent unable to fund her education.

Boity Thulo career began as a model in commercials such as Wimpy.

Boity began working on music videos while in her teen years attracting lucrative commercial and modeling offers from fans and well-wishers. Some of her materials were aired on national television raising her rating even higher.

Her TV career started to take off in 2011 when she appeared on e.tv’s 4Play: Sex Tips for Girls. She later works for E.TV hosting a music program. Her ambitious nature saw start presenting another competitive program "The Media Career Guide" on SABC1. She came up with the show targeting young people with useful tips on how to harvest the potential engrained in the media industry. Boity was later hired to act the role of Mpho Bogatsu at Rockville, a broadcast series that changed her life and career.

In 2014, Boitumelo and her partner Ryan Hammond took part in the program “Strictly Come Dancing South Africa.” The 2014 program where she secure the third place even then attracting several admires from both the audience and attending teams. She was featured by Kenny Kunene on The Comedy Central Roast in the same year.

In 2012, Boity hosted the program “Zoned” on SABC 1 alongside Mpupi Mbethe. The program was largely an interactive user-generated magazine show that offered multiple platforms for the host and audience.

In 2015, Boity started hosting “Club 808” with Cyprian Ndlovu his co-host for the music show at e.tv. She also participated in “Rolling” a documentary reality series at e.tv. Boity has been named the sexiest South African woman for a couple of years in a row. She has served as the brand ambassador at Iman Cosmetics, Jeep, and USN among others.

Musical career

In 2017, October 21, Thulo started her rapping job on the Migos Culture Tour at Durban.

She released her debut single “Wuz Dat” featuring Nasty C on 30 August 2018. the song won “Best Collabo” at the 2018 South African Hip-Hop Awards for the category.

The actress collaborated with Impulse SA in creating limited edition fragrances in 2018. This South African Singer also featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan SA for the September 2018 issue.

Ambassador

Boity was once a brand ambassador for a wimpy (fast food chain) “cheesanator”. Thulo is also a goodwill ambassador for Thusa A Girl Child, a charity organization dedicated to helping young girls who grow up in extreme poverty conditions.

As the recently announced co-creator of a limited-edition range of Impulse body sprays, longstanding co-designer of the Boity x Sissy Boy range, and with a rumoured single on the way, Boity is having a good 2018.

Personal life

Boity Thulo has dated and once engaged to "Cassper Nyovest" a South African rapper. Nyovest and Boity dated for years called until the end the relationship in December 2015.

After her split with Cassper Nyovest, she was rumoured to be seeing former Congolese basketball player Christian Eyenga. The pair were spotted out in public together in June 2017 but their romance fizzled shortly afterwards.

Boity also dated music video director Stanley Obiamalu S. They reportedly started seeing each other in 2017. The lovers broke up in early 2019 with Boity declaring on her twitter page in April same year that she is single.

Controversy

Boity was also rumoured to be dating Maps Maponyane. The rumours started when Maps shared a picture he took of Boity in a pink gown. Both Boity and Maps rubbished the claims.

They are just good friends and Maps was visiting a sick Boity to check up on her.
